Planetary Alignment? No Says NASA Scientist
2012 NEWS 5/10/08
There is no planetary alignment in December 2012. As to “alignment with the center of the Milky Way” that is a meaningless phrase. It may sound scientific, but it is devoid of content. To put it bluntly, these claims on the Internet of alignments and catastrophe in December 2012 are lies.
Greatdreams 7/31/08
The date December 21st, 2012 A.D. (13.0.0.0.0 in the Long Count), represents an extremely close conjunction of the Winter Solstice Sun with the crossing point of the Galactic Equator (Equator of the Milky Way) and the Ecliptic (path of the Sun), what that ancient Maya recognized as the Sacred Tree. This is an event that has been coming to resonance very slowly over thousands and thousands of years.
Mayan Calender Predictions for December 21, 2012
Associated content 5/22/08
An examination of the Mayan calendar predictions for the year 2012, specifically December 21, 2012, has a number of people very much on edge. The Mayan civilization was very advanced for their time and their calender was even more precise than our own. However, it ends, December 21, 2012. Why?
Survive2012
The Mayan calendar and the fractal patterns of the McKenna brothers are only human constructs, descriptions of our journey through time. But out in our galaxy there is a giant wheel revolving - we are actually on a slow wobble and the stars are just appearing to revolve. This "precession of the equinoxes" takes 25,800 years to complete one cycle, and within this cycle we can observe conjunctions in the heavens between the stars and our solar system.
Sun Goes Longer Than Normal Without Producing Sunspots
Sciencedaily 6/9/08
The last cycle reached its peak in 2001 and is believed to be just ending now, Longcope said. The next cycle is just beginning and is expected to reach its peak sometime around 2012. Today's sun, however, is as inactive as it was two years ago, and scientists aren't sure why.
Circularevidence 3/31/08
The most disturbing aspect of the 2012 Mayan Prophecy, concerns the impact of the effects of sunspots on the Earth during the Solar cycle 24 peak. With that in mind, cycle 24 is now underway but at the lower end of its raising intensity, with four years yet to run. The photos NASA took two days ago, should concern us that we could indeed be in for trouble, on this score alone.
Sun Spots May Affect Cell Phone, GPS Coverage
Arklatex 1/11/08
Scientists are
warning that new sunspots may mark the arrival of a cycle of solar storms that
will likely disrupt cell phone calls and GPS devices worldwide. According to
ABC News, strong storms may have the ability to knock out entire power grids.
Sunspots are areas of intense magnetic activity on the sun that appear on an
11-year cycle.
These cycles shoot large amounts of energy towards Earth and can interfere with
electronic devices. According to physicists, solar storm activity is expected
to gradually increase and peak around 2011 or 2012.
